CANDLELIT VIGIL IN BUNCRANA

Candlelit vigil is held in Buncrana

SEVERAL thousand people also attended special vigil in Buncrana.
Silence fell at 3.10pm as the Donegal town which lost three children remembered all those murdered by the bomb
Thirty candles were lit in Market Square to include the unborn twins of bomb victim Avril Monaghan in the list of the dead.
Local parish priest Father Joesph Carlin and Church of Ireland Canon Sam Barton officiated at the ceremony.
They led prayers for the dead, the injured and also for those families bereaved by the atrocity.
The gathering was also asked to pray for the perpetrators of the bombing and their supporters.
Fr Carlin fought back tears as he read out the names of those killed and at one stage almost broke down.
Thousands of people also turned out in Derry to show their solidarity with the bereaved an victims of the Omagh blast.
