Hang these killers, says terror bomb victim (24)
A 24-year-old woman seriously injured in the Omagh massacre has said the bombers should be hanged.
Rachael Davis is one of 16 casualties, five of them children, being treated in Londonderry's Altnagelvin Hospital.
Ms Davis, of Connaghty Road, Omagh, said she was caught in the blast 10 minutes after fleeing Carltons bakery, where she is an assistant.
"When word came through about the bomb alert, I left the bakery and went down to the Cosy Corner at the bottom of the town.
"I was there with my friends for about 10 minutes when there was a loud bang.
"I was thrown into the air. When I woke up I tried to get on my feet but there were bodies of people everywhere and I was too terrified to move.
"There were a lot of limbs lying around the street and people were badly injured.
"It was terrible. Passers-by helped me. They lifted me into a minibus and took me to hospital.
"I couldn't breathe but a lot of the people were more seriously injured than me,' said Miss Davis, who had a broken right leg and widespread shrapnel wounds.
"The waiting and what I saw was terrible. I just don't begin to understand how people can do this.
"I don't know if you can even call them people. Then they go and call a ceasefire and think they can get out. They should all be hanged", she said.
In the same ward is Suzanne Kelly, from Bracken Vale, Omagh, a 20-year-old student at Hope University College, Liverpool, who lost her right leg. Ms Kelly was shopping with her mother Mary when the bomb exploded.
Mrs Kelly is in the hospital's intensive care unit and yesterday briefly recovered consciousness for the first time since the explosion.
