YES VOTER FEELS DUPED
Yes voter feels duped
AS a 21-year-old student, who voted Yes in favour of the Good Friday Agreement, against the advice of my family and others, I have to
say I feel duped.
The appeasement policy carried out by both the British and Irish Governments was rewarded by the carnage in Omagh.
In previous weeks and months we have seen other towns blown apart, we have so called punishment beatings at an all time high. The RUC has publicly announced the IRA was involved in recent murders, and other terrorist activities, as were mainstream loyalist paramilitaries, yet theSecretary of State says she is satisfied the ceasefire is holding.
Throughout this so called peace process, the sensitivity which its authors have presu- med to be paramount was the sensitivity of the Sinn Fein-IRA leadership, while those who are sceptical are treated like pariahs and bigots.
We see British troops risk their lives in Bosnia, to apprehend so called war criminals, yet in this part of the United Kingdom people who committed equally barbaric deeds, are to be released from prison with payment.
Promises and honeyed words from Blair, Mowlam, Trimble and Ahern are no longer enough. Prison releases must be suspended until all guns and explosives have been handed over and it has been declared the war is over for good the armed dissidents must be crushed and appeasement must end otherwise carnage like Omagh will continue.
