Hollow words of politicians
YET again we stare in absolute disbelief at the pictures of yet another atrocity and are subjected to the horror of the utter devastation and carnage.
It is galling to endure this. What galls me more is to watch the steady stream of politicians at the scene and having to listen to them.
How it must sicken the injured and the victims' families to hear these people talk of their horror. The same old words every time.
How can the man who carried the coffin of the Shankill bomber, which also killed innocent men, women and children, stand in front of the cameras and say he condemns this attack yet his sidekick, when asked on television if he would supply information to the
RUC if he knew any, said he wouldn't. Words of comfort I'm sure.
It is with a heavy heart that I write this because I know that names will be forgotten and just like previous atrocities, our scarred people will forget their intense feelings and adjust to so-called normality.
Think how the families of those killed and maimed in past attacks feel now when the men who committed them are being released early as a sop to the evil men.
How can Mr Blair say that every effort will be made to track these killers down, when all the effort now seems to be being put into releasing them?
Instead of appeasing these scum, they should be taken out of society and let the peace-loving majority carry on with our lives without the shadow of evil cast over us.
