VICTIM'S FRIEND GOES ON WITH WEDDING

Victim's friend goes on with wedding

A LIFELONG friend of one of the Omagh bomb victims told how she decided to go ahead with her wedding in memory of her companion.
Mary McCullough had known Geraldine Breslin since they were at school together and grew up together in the town.
The pair, both 43, had been close friends for years until Saturday's explosion claimed the life of Mrs Breslin and 27 others.
Mrs Breslin's funeral was held in Omagh yesterday with her husband Mark and 14-year-old son Gareth among the many mourners.
Mrs McCullough, now married to her husband Barry (46), said: "We went ahead with our wedding yesterday in honour of Geraldine. Her family said that that was what she would have wanted.
"It was a very tough choice to make about whether to go ahead with the wedding, but I spoke with her family and they were all for it.
"It seems insensitive but we had a good day. When we were getting our photos taken outside the sun was shining and when we went inside it rained. It was like Geraldine was smiling down on us."
Mrs Breslin had been at Mrs McCullough's hen night and would have been one of the guests at the wedding ceremony.
