HAVE POITICIANS NO FEELINGS?
Have Politicians no Feeelings?
AFTER the slaughter of the innocents of our society in Omagh I have to ask the question "Are we governed by imbeciles?"
For nigh on 30 years the people of this country have been slaughtered, butchered, maimed, crippled and blinded by the mindless thugs and scum on both sides of our divided community.
Now we are in the process of releasing the butchers of humanity back to our streets, and I have no doubt the Omagh bombers will be similarly treated should they ever be caught.
How can these politicians sleep in their bed at night? Do they not feel guilty at their abominable failure to govern? Have they no feelings whatsoever for the victims of such atrocities?
We have on television a newspaperman who claims to know the identity of the businessman behind the Omagh bombing. Will this journalist be interviewed and his knowledge followed up or do the authorities themselves already know of the godfather's identity? If so what are they going to do about it?
After the bombing of the American embassies the United Nations stated that itwas the duty of every nation not to harbour, give succour, protection etc to terrorism. Is the Republic of Ireland exempt to this United Nations directive?
Soon we will have our own form of government. How wonderful and at long last.
However, before euphoria sets in let's look at who will govern us. Some politicians have nurtured and created the hate and division of our society, while others, of modest means at the start of the troubles, would appear to have the sort of wealth which would embarrass a pop star. These are the people who will be telling us to pay our taxes, don't drink and drive and go to church on a Sunday.
The media have a lot to answer for, because the bigger the disaster, the bigger the headlines and bigger the profits. What have the media done for our society? Have any of their profits been used to create co-operational youth communities.
Let me be quite clear, I am a committed Irish nationalist albeit of a Protestant faith, a world wide traveller who knows too well that before one should attempt to unite the country they must first unite the people.
