CHILDREN'S LAST KISS FOR GRANNY
Children's last 'kiss' for granny
By Janet Devlin
A POIGNANT last message from Mary Grime's grandchildren lay among the floral tributes at her funeral in Beragh.
Little Patrick, Aoibheann and Eilish whose mother Avril Monaghan was buried on Tuesday, sent their granny a wreath of yellow roses and white carnations.
And the poem along with it read: "Put your arms around granny and kiss her smiling face, for she was someone special and will never be replaced."
Yesterday mourners were told by the Archbishop of Armagh, Sean Brady that the killings of Mrs Grimes, Avril and her I8-month-old daughter Maura were carried out under the pretext of patriotism, added shame to the outrage and sorrow.
"If this triple tragedy were due to natural causes or an accident it would be immensely sad." he said.
"But this is the work of fellow human beings and our hearts are filled not only with sadness but with anger and outrage."
