Killers 'stole Gareth's bright new future'

A RIVER of tears flowed through Carrickmore as hundreds came to say a final goodbye to Gareth Conway.
Only hours earlier most of them had also attended the funeral of Brenda Logue (17) who. like Gareth, had attended the nearby Dean Brian.Maguire High.School.
Gareth (18) was in Omagh to buy a pair of con tact lenses when he was caught up in the blast.
He had been due to start an engineering course at Magee College in the autumn.
Mourners were led by his parents Mickey and Marie, sisters Marita. Michaela and Shauneen and brothers Tom, Ryan and Des.
The Auxiliary Bishop of Armagh. Dr Gerard Clifford, said the death was all the more poignant because people had begun to see a better way - the way of reconciliation and peace.
"Gareth Conway had plans for his future for his education. A bright new future lay ahead.
"His future was stolen from him by men and women of violence who claim to plan a future for our country.
"Their sort of plan is based on fear, intimidation and death. Today we say we want no part in that." he said.
Gareth was buried at the graveyard at St Mary's Church in nearby Loughmacrory.
