Thousands bid children goodbye
IN Buncrana three heartbroken families who joined together to bury their three sons heard Bishop Seamus Hegarty call on the congregation to pray for the bombers. SeanMcLoughlin(12) and James Barker (12) were laid to rest with their young friend Oran Doherty (8).
Side by side, the three hearses, strewn with flowers and Celtic colours, made the short joumey to St Mary's Church in Cockhill.
In his address Dr Seamus Hegarty, Catholic Bishop of Derry, asked the mourners to pray for the bombers. First Minister David Trimble and his deputy Seamus Mallon attended the service. Sinn Fein's Martin McGuinness and Gerry Adams were also there.
At the same time the funeral for toddler Breda Devine, who was three months off her second birthday, was held at St Mary's, Aghabrack.
Her mother Tracey is still in hospital fighting for her life after suffering 60% burns in the blast
