Women's centres in offer of help
WOMEN'S Centres in Londonderry are calling for practical help for people afflicted by the Omagh bomb.
Thersea Kelly, administrator of the cityside centre, said that people had already responded to the call - offering accommodation, childcare and transport.
"The widescale murder of innocent people - with so many women, children and even unborn babies killed - has left many people feeling angry and helpless and despairing," she said.
"We all wanted to do something practical to help and stop society from going under and losing all hope.
"I thought with the murder of the Quinn brothers we had reached the depths - but then came Omagh, and for what?"
Mrs Kelly said that the appeal was still getting off the ground, but she had already received a number of calls for people pledging their support.
"We are drawing up lists of people who are willing to provide accommodation to visiting relatives of the injured still in hospital," she said.
"And we want to provide childcare support for families with children and also a transport roster for those who may not have transport."
